NOTES: Northeast of Tucson, the Mount Lemmon ski area is the southern-most ski area in the United States. In the Catalina Mountains, Mount Lemmon rises to 9,157 feet towering above the surrounding mountains and desert below. The ski area has 21 runs over 200 acres served by 2 lifts with a max vertical of 950 feet. The runs are divided into 22% expert, 20% advanced, 38% intermediate and 20% beginner. The ski area has been known to be open as early as mid-December and as late as early April.
To reach the Mount Lemmon Ski Valley from Tucson, follow Tanque Verde Road to Catalina Highway. Head northeast up Catalina Highway for 30.2 miles to the ski area entrance. Turn right at the entrance and continue for 1 mile to the parking area. The ski area is located at 10300 Ski Run Road in Mt Lemmon.
Note: After snowfall, chains may be required on vehicles heading up Catalina Highway.
