| TITLE: Sierra at Tahoe Ski Area |
 |
NOTES: Southwest of South Lake Tahoe near Echo Summit, the Sierra-at-Tahoe ski area has plenty of snowboarding runs over 2000 boardable acres with a maximum vertical drop of 2,200 feet. Expect less crowds, more glades and amazing backcountry. There are 3 terrain parks. Generally, this is a family oriented resort with 75% of runs either green or blue. But there are many challenging glades between the runs. Plus there are several backcountry gates into the Eldorado National Forest. On a powder day, try the Grandview Express lift to Preachers Trees and then Avalanche Bowl off Nob Hill.
For steep and deep, drop into the 230 acre Huckleberry Bowl for a challenging 1,200 descent over cornices and through chutes. If you are looking for glades, try the right shoulder of Huckleberry along a lightly treed line called the Golf Course.
If you are looking for some apres-ski, try the Sierra Pub.
To reach Sierra-at-Tahoe from South Lake Tahoe, head was on US 50 for 12 miles. Turn left onto Sierra-at-Tahoe Road.
