NOTES: Between Kings Beach and Truckee, the Northstar-at-Tahoe ski area has 2,900 telemarkable acres with a maximum vertical drop of 2,300 feet. There are 7 terrain parks. Try the new black diamond runs off Lookout Mountain.
To reach Northstar from Truckee, follow US267 south towards Kings Beach.
Better known for the telemarking, this area is not known for its nightlife. Best bets are in Tahoe City (Pierce Street Annex, Pete & Peters, Naughty Dog) or Truckee (Tahoe Taps or Tourist Club).
Note: For the 2009 winter season, there is a new Martis Camp Express quad chairlift the extends Lookout Mountain to a vertical drop of 1,722 feet.
