NOTES: Southwest of South Lake Tahoe near Echo Summit, the Sierra-at-Tahoe ski area has plenty of telemarking runs over 2000 telemarkable acres with a maximum vertical drop of 2200. Expect less crowds, more glades and amazing backcountry. There are 3 terrain parks. Generally, this is a family oriented resort with 75% of runs either green or blue. But there are many challenging glades between the runs. Plus there are several backcountry gates into the Eldorado National Forest. On a powder day, try the Grandview Express lift to Preachers Trees and then Avalanche Bowl off Nob Hill.
